In my doctor’s waiting room last Friday, I read an article about how the kind of purse you carry says a lot about what kind of person you are.
Seriously?!
Remind me to bring in a book next time.
It is shocking how much this article offended me. You would think I would be more accepting of folks who want to define their life through their style. I mean, what’s the big deal anyway? It was style magazine after all. Lighten up already momma.
Yeah, yeah – I know. It just bugged me.
Designer handbags have not been a big deal for me since high school for crap’s sake.
Although, I don’t even care about having a smartphone so I know I’m weird that way. I guess I’m just a failure of an American who needs to change and want the latest stuff and the nicest clothes so I can help drive the economy…but I don’t anymore. I’m over it.
Whether or not you choose to buy designer clothes or accessories has so little to do with what kind of person you are, it’s silly.
If anyone wants to judge me for not carrying an expensive handbag, they can. I still get to live my great life.
Although I suppose my re-purposed Dutch army bag with vintage recycled fabric cover handmade in Amsterdam by an independent artist says that much about me anyway. Damn that article!
Ha!
